Novel magazine is a free publication concentrating on arts, literature & culture in the North East. It provides a platform for people working in all areas of creative industries to get their work published and accepts contributions from anyone and everyone with creative nouse. Issue 3 of the magazine is themed 'sub-cultures and the subversive' and as skateboarding couldn't fit more snuggly into that theme I decided to contribute some images and words to the editors. To my utter delight the they were so happy with one of the images shot on 35mm film they dedcided to stick it on the cover! The image in question features Dog on the Tyne's very own James Coyle dropping gnarly hammers in Durham. Not only did D.O.T.T get the cover but Novel also ran 6 more of my images (35mm and digital) alongside a short article I wrote about the skate scene in the U.K. I will be dropping off a few issues in Native tomorrow and there will also be 4 thousand more isuues distributed throughout Newcastle's shops and cultural centre's so check it out when you get the chance. I want to say a big thank you to Lee and Kerry at the Magazine for embracing skating and giving me and James our first covers as photographer and skater respectively.
